Table Mountain
Nesting under the famous Table Mountain, Cape Town is a vibrant and cosmopolitan city. it has been designated as the best city to living in the world according to National Geogtaphic .
The Waterfront
First port of call is the Waterfront which has been completely renovated and offers a variety of restaurants ( try Quay 5 or the food market with its wide selection of food stalls) and shops at the V & A (Victoria and Alfred). The Watershed is a newly converted warehouse housing great local arts and crafts stalls (well worth a visit if you are looking for something original and made locally.
My favourite pastime is to just stroll about and listen to the various music bands on show.
Observatory
A fun eclectic area in Cape Town, primarily lived in by students and artists. Well worth a visit.
The Biscuit Mill
Located in Woodstock, it is an exciting market to visit on Saturday ( closed Sundays ). It can get extremely busy during the season so go early in the morning and have breakfast there.
You will experience the best food South Africa has to offer.
Rhodes Memorial
Definitely on the To Do list when you are in Cape Town. The site offers fantastic Panoramic vistas of the city and a nice place to have lunch or coffee.
Camps Bay
Enjoy a stroll on the beach, treat yourself ro a delicious ice cream whilst looking at the Aposrles and Lion’s Head. Finally finish at the Cod Father for superbly grilled fish such as kingclip and lobster or giant prawns.
Hout Bay
A stone’s throw away from Camps Bay (you can get there by hopping on the tourist bus from the city centre) lies Hout Bay. Famous fot its in-door craft market with plenty of food stalls to choose from, it is open on a friday evening and saturday when you can enjoy live music. Fish on the Rock is a famous fish&chips shop just outside the market and you will not be able to eat fish as fresh as they serve there. The views are also spectacular and you may spot a few seals waiting for some crumbs...
Don’t forget to take a stroll around the harbour too.
frpm Hout Bat harbour take a boat trip to Seal island. It is a lovely worthwhile trip but be prepared for the small !!!
